Seriously, when I first heard about kale chips I thought, gross. I mean, I’ve had quite a few chips in my time and the idea of someone telling me that kale can be a replacement for chips was laughable. Well – joke’s on me! It’s shockingly delicious.
And simple. I forgot to mention how incredibly simple this is. It’s almost not even a recipe – but I had to share with you guys anyways!
Here are the ingredients you’ll need – literally – 4. How awesome is that.
Here are the steps – preheat the oven to 350, cut the kale, trim off the stems – this takes about 1.5 minutes. Put kale onto pan. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Sprinkle over 1 teaspoon sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes – more or less depending on how much you like heat. Put into the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes until crispy and a very slightly brown.
Remove from oven and that’s it! A perfect snack. It’s like eating a super-thin chip…..there is a flavor there that’s different than chips – but believe me – the crunch, the texture, the experience is great! N and I ate half of the kale right away. I’m very excited to have this recipe – I hope you try it and are as amazed as I am! I can’t wait to make some healthy dips to go along with this….stay tuned!
